*sigh*

Silly churches. I'm sorry you had that experience and, though I don't know what your views are, I expect that they're justified given what you've been through.

When I was finding my faith I was subject to a few experiences that should have put me off. I'm not sure if it my my perseverance with God or the other way round that got me through.

A handwritten (or, at least, hand-addressed) letter does sound intriguing. I've not come across anything like that being done before.

I personally like the idea of a heavenly directory, though I've moved house so many times I expect God's running out space for my entry! Hah!

Keiron - without our sense of humour whether together (which is much worse!) or apart i really do not know how we would have survived some of the horrors in life! Max has never recovered from that photo shoot!

It's probably just my sense of humour that set you off, you did tell me in quite a straight way - but I just got the giggles.

Magic Roundabout - it's one of those things I can't help, I find humour in the oddest things sometimes - Kate will testify to a very bad day I was having when I spotted the cat laying on the worktop, through everything a spark of laughter came as I rushed for a camera - the cat had sat so it looked like he'd got a knife buried in him... He hadn't and was quite happily purring away - but it was the most bizarre thing.

So what's really happened here then.. Have the church got a long list of people to contact? Handwritten, not a mass mailing then (breaks my earlier question on the phone yesterday about the Data Protection Act!)....

Probably all innocent enough - but I'm a suspicious sod! Hmmmm the plot thickens!!

<abbr><em>Keiron´s last blog post..<a href="http://www.skillett.com/index.php/633/hosting-101" rel="nofollow">Hosting 101</a></abbr></em>

Moon - no such luck - this girl is ex-directory, TPS MPS the works. As a non praticing catholic I never got to taste the wine anyway. And as for money - thats easy - I haven't got any - I view it as a necessity for existence and pleasure only. Thank God for the Hippy in my soul - maybe thats what the attraction is - they don't have Hippy's in their congregation.

Magic Roundabout - Hello and welcome - my views on the church are maybe a little harsh after being thrown out in the 70's by a bishop that did not understand that I could be in love and want to marry someone who was divorced. I have my faith and have brought both of my children up to be good people and recognise the good in everybody.

This one was blog-worthy because it was a hand written envelope containing and invitation and a reply card - it was so personal - it has me wondering...and it has not gone in the recycling bag with all the other strange mail that arrives daily - it is in my handbag ready to send the reply tomorrow.

I will let you know!!!

Hello. I did spot Keiron's tweet but didn't get what it was about until I followed the link from his blog yesterday. I hope you don't mind me reading and commenting.

As a regular church-goer, and someone who has a streak of the anthropologist in them, I'm quite intrigued about how people view the church from the outside.

Your response is therefore interesting. I suspect that, like me, you receive direct mailings from many organisations without querying where they got your address from. I wonder what makes one from the church so blog-worthy?

Let us know how you get on and what they want!
