Introducing Alfie!

Just as a change from Singapore and my holiday last week in Tenerife to spend my birthday near to my brother and his family, I would like to introduce you to this young man..

I flew back on Saturday and on Sunday morning I fetched him to his new home… this photo was taken in the first five minutes of arriving back here!

Alfie is 14 weeks old and gorgeous!

He is a Whippet with a little bit of Bedlington Terrier in there somewhere!

He started off cowering when he was being touched and had runny eyes, itchy ears and a tummy problem.

He also had a strange smell about him so first of all – a bath was needed…

and a cuddle of course..

He was introduced to his crate which he is quite happy with, thank goodness

And 3 days on after a visit to the vet for ear and eye treatment plus first vaccination – he is feeling a little better..

He had some presents that squeaked – they scared him at first but this morning he felt much better about them..

Chasing them round the kitchen and the garden – no photos there I’m afraid – he’s far too quick for me!!!!

So…… I will finish the Singapore story and add my Tenerife Tale but at the moment a smaller waggy tail is taking over my home and I might have to do some dog blogging again!!!!!

You missed the bit about him biting his shadow – bless him!

  2. Geri Atric says:

Oh he’s gorgeous Kate! Nothing like a baby around the house to brighten things up and make you smile. The best kind of chaos.

  3. I want, I want! Must be patient – I will soon be moving to a house with half an acre – definitely enough room for a dog, no matter what my cats say.

  4. Baino says:

Aww he’s adorable. I’m so glad you got a dog, you must be missing Hippy big time.

  5. Kate says:

Ah Keiron – there are so many things…I could already write a book… as I type he is removing the buttons to set the timer on my oven!!!… i must remember to keep them safe…..

Geri – you’re right…. its mayhem!!!! But he makes me laugh!!

DBM – Max is hiding at the moment but he’ll change – after all he did tame a greyhound before – so I’m sure your cats will cope! Half an acre? I only have a small garden but he will be a’ quick run and a rest dog’ when he calms down …… :-)

Baino – Yes – I do miss Hips but she comes to stay sometimes – she’s not too keen on puppy power though and goes off to hide when he gets rough!!!

  6. Jay says:

What a pretty little fellow! I look forward to hearing about all kinds of adventures!

I recognise the being afraid of squeaky toys at first thing. LOL!

  7. Nick says:

It looks to me as though he’s very happy in his new home. Lucky Alfie!

  8. Kate says:

Jay – he is a sweetie and he’s getting used to things now after a shaky start! Adventures? I’d have to be extremely quick with the camera – maybe when things slow down….. if ever?

Nick – oh I hope so!!! When I can take him out and introduce him to the world it will be much better for him!!!!

  9. Taffy's Mum says:

  10. English Mum says:

He’s utterly gorgeous. Poor ol’ DBM – all of us are talking about dogs at the moment. Hehe xx

  11. Kate says:

Taffy’s Mum – Thank you so much for the birthday wishes – it seems to have gone on for so long I feel like royalty – Alfie says thank you – he likes a fuss!!!!

English Mum – I know – fun times all round – but sometimes we have to wait till its right – DBM is on the road to dog ownership – i can just feel it!!!!
